Overview and Applications
The flow tester is a precision equipment for performing leak and flow measurements. Although it has been designed to be easily integrated in
Emdep test boards for testing water tubes, it is suitable for any other application where flow or leak measurements are required. Some typical
defects that can be detected by this equipment are:
- Leakage on tubes.
- Obstruction on tubes.
The Flow tester can detect defects such as pinched or leaky tubes.

Measurements and detection range
The images show measurements of the absolute flow drop in different kind of tubes tested at 1 bar. Tests have been performed with different internal diameter (mm) and different length (m) tubes.
The following images show the relative flow drop in different kind of tubes tested at 1 bar. The detection threshold represents the recommended minimum flow drop compared with non-defective tube. Tests have been performed with different internal diameter (mm) and different length (m) tubes.
The second tube does not require any electro valve at the counterpart (only flow test), but the first one requires electro valves to check both branches sequentially.
Flow and Leak test
This example requires an electro valve in each counterpart to close the tubes during leak test.
